Hey guys, you might want to try Shadowbane.

It is now a free game!

I played a long time ago when it was a $$$ game and as it is now free I thought I would give it a whirl and I am having a lot of fun with it.

If you have not played Shadowbane, I will say:
1. It is heavily PvP oriented game
2. There are a LOT of possible character customizations, more classes and races than most games
3. the graphics are a bit dated but not too bad
4. free Smile
5. levelling is very quick as grinding out XP is not the goal, PvP is.

If you do try it, I am playing on the wraith server as jodaddy (and/or jomamma)

I posted this on the council boards but am posting here as well for the general masses.

Update:

There is going to be a Shadowbane server wipe.

There are 5 servers at the moment, most with low populations and a few with lag issues. The new server layout after the wipe will consist of only 2 servers, so the populations will be much better for PvP and hopefully the new hardware and software setup will solve the issues the had on some servers.

This will also put all guilds on an even playing field as everyone is starting over.

So, if anyone in the enclave wants to play this free game, the time immediately after the wipe would be an excellent time to do so.

I am running it on a 4 yr old laptop, in fact I can even "dual box" and run 2 copies of the game at once (yes they allow this) so I can have a tank and healer playing simultaneously

My laptop has 256 megs of ram and a 64 meg video card, although I think the video card is using shared memory so I suspect it has less ram that that. It is an amd64 but running in 32 mode of course since it is XP
