Decided to try this out on 14 day trial - have found it pretty interesting. Seems to have a fairly steep learning curve. Had bad rep at release but their subscribers have been steadily increasing. Good thing about 14 day trial is that no credit card info is needed.

I have heard about that game. A lot of people claim that it is the best MMOG available, and it is the highest-ranked game at www.mmorpg.com. I've been thinking about giving it a try lately, but don't have time for another game right now.

Also, if anyone remembers Anarchy Online, it has evolved into a great game now and is free to download and play without expansions out 2006.

Arokh, Oak, and I played this game for a couple of weeks. It seems pretty good. It's a PvP game though and some of the people are pretty ruthless. My main problem with this game is there is tons of downtime....the universe is so huge it takes forever to get anywhere.

If you really want to try something different play DDO. I'm loving it. No grinding, very little downtime, excellent combat system that takes into account positioning of people, classes that are useful and not balanced against each other but balanced for content, in-game voice chat, etc...

The main problem is that DDO is a group based game. You really need at least 2 - 3 people to do any quests. They have made finding and getting into groups really easy though. And personally, I like the forced grouping. I'm bored to tears now in WoW soloing the same content over and over again.

I have a hard time seeing DDO as a subscription game - though I cant put my finger on it. Time questing with others in beta and headstart was fun - but I think playing NWN would be just as fun and no subscription.

I don't know if DDO is going to be worth it as a subscription game either....but I will give it a couple months to see how often Turbine adds new content to the game. In any case, $80 to play a game for 3 months is worth it to me....I've bought games for $50 that barely lasted a week.
